The latest couple to call it quits is English singer Cheryl Tweedy and her boyfriend of almost 3 years Liam Payne.

Cheryl announces the split on her Twitter

Cheryl took to social media to communicate with her fans and followers and inform them of the latest happening in her personal life. She tweeted:

“We are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. It’s been a tough decision for us to make. We still have so much love for each other as a family.”

The former Judge on X factor show went on to state:

“Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together.”

Liam too confirms the separation

The One Direction star Liam Payne also resorted to social media to confirm the breakup with Cheryl. He wrote on his Twitter handle:

“Cheryl and I are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways”

Cheryl and her birthday

This split comes just a few days after Cheryl celebrated her 35^th birthday with her former bandmates, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts. On her birthday, neither did Liam wish her nor was he anywhere near her during her birthday celebrations.

She had posted a stunning selfie on the occasion on her Instagram for her large number of followers. Cheryl had worn her long brunette hair in loose waves.

She had captioned this picture:

“Go shorty it’s my birthday. Thank you so much for all my lovely birthday wishes very kind of you.”

The two were residing separately when Liam commenced his solo career for which he had to be always on the move. Cheryl had stayed put in the United Kingdom and was taking care of their one-year-old son Bear. She had also paused attending public events.

It has come to be known from an insider that the decision to break up was a mutual one and there was no messiness involved.

“They get on great and this was a decision they made taking into account what’s right for their son.
But they are adamant they will be the best possible parents to Bear by both being in his life.
