Sofia Vergara now refuses to date a man younger than 50

Sofia Vergara doesn’t want her future partner to be under the age of 50.

The Modern Family star who appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Wednesday, said,

“They can’t be younger than 50. I’m 51,”

She also quickly said that it would be okay if the guy was 49.

The host, shocked by the actress’ vow, asked, “Really?! That’s your rule?”

Vergara replied, laughing,

“Yeah, I’m intelligent,”

Vergara’s statement came after fellow WWHL guest Alexia Nepola of The Real Housewives of Miami suggested that she date rapper Bad Bunny after they flirted in October 2023.

The Griselda star responded,

“Let’s not go crazy,”
“He’s younger than my son, Manolo. Manolo is 32.”

Fans responded to Sofia’s hilarious comment, with one writing,

”It is absolutely normal and reasonable to put prior conditions, from one side what what will accept or not, in a date or partner.”

Why does Sofia now have age issues in a relationship?

Vergara recently said that she and her husband of 7 years, Joe Manganiello split over their decision to have kids. The couple’s 4-year age gap did play a role in it.

She told El País in January,

“My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids, and I didn’t want to be an old mom,”

The America’s Got Talent judge explained that being an older mom is not fair for the baby. Having said that, she also said that she respects women who choose to go down that path.

Referring to Manolo, whom she shares with her first husband, Joe Gonzalez, she said,

The actress also admitted that she is still looking for a romantic partner but she hopes she already has kids.

In July 2023, it was announced that she and Joe were divorcing after seven years of marriage.

Just three months later, Vergara was spotted on a date with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman.

Manganiello is also back in the dating game as he made his red carpet debut with girlfriend Caitlin O’Connor, 33, in December 2023.
