Geoffrey Arend and Christina Hendricks, 44 are calling it quits. Their married life is in turmoil and they have mutually decided to divorce each other.

The couple has released a joint statement that they put up on their respective Instagram. They posted:

“Twelve years ago we fell in love and became partners. We joined our two amazing families, had countless laughs, made wonderful friends and were blessed with incredible opportunities,”

The statement continued:

“Today, we take our next step together, but on separate paths.”

“We will always be grateful for the love we’ve shared and will always work together to raise our two beautiful dogs.”

They stated that they want the fans’ support and patience during this difficult phase of their life:

“We will be taking time to rediscover ourselves in this transition and we thank you for your patience and support in giving us the space to do so.”

The actress met actor Geoffrey, 41 during a fun night out in Los Angeles in 2007. Mad Men co-star, Vincent Kartheiser introduced her to Geoffrey.

The couple became close friends and were soon dating. After two years of courtship, Geoffrey took their relationship to the next level when he proposed to her below a chandelier at Il Buco in New York.

It was below the same chandelier that the couple wed in October 2009. But the wedding function was an intimate one attended by family and close friends only. The couple purchased the chandelier and placed it in their dining room.

The couple had no children. But they adopted two puppies. Christina did not want any kids in the marriage and the puppies replaced that void in their life. The exact cause of the divorce has not been revealed, but it appears that there is no bitterness in their separation.

On Friday morning, there was a moving van outside the couple’s LA home. Christina was the one who came and greeted the men who bought the van there. Hence, it is likely that she is the one who is going to pack her things and move out of the house.

Christina had her red hair pulled back. They were wet and it appeared that she had a shower just before coming out the moving out her personal belongings from the house.

But the eagle-eyed reporters also noticed that her wedding ring was missing from her finger. She was holding a bottle of drinking water as she came out to speak to the movers. But she did wear a gloomy face as she spoke to them.
