Steven Tyler responds to sexually assaulting a minor
Steven Tyler refused to accept that he sexually assaulted a minor in 1973 and that he forced her to get an abortion.
The Aerosmith lead singer filed a lengthy response to the accusations which were made in a December 2022 lawsuit. In the response, Tyler said that the plaintiff consented to their physical relationship. Also, he had immunity as her legal guardian at the time.
The 75-year-old singer also requested for the lawsuit to be dismissed citing 24 affirmative defenses denying the allegations.
Somewhere in the claims, Steven also reported that the apparent victim Julia Misley, who is now Julia Holcomb “has not suffered any injury or damage as a result of any action by Defendant.”
Additionally, he also noted that “if it is determined that Plaintiff has been damaged, then any such damages were not caused by Defendant.”
The response came just three months after Misley accused the Sweet Emotion singer of sexual assault and sexual battery. She also accused him of forcing her to get an abortion during their relationship in the 1970s.
Misley’s filings in the court documents stated that Tyler “coerced and persuaded” her into believing they had a romantic affair. Their relationship started when she was only 16 and he was 25.
Despite not naming Tyler directly in the suit, Misley publicly opened up about her relationship with the rocker over the years.

Steven became her legal guardian in the 70s
Also, Tyler also admitted he had a relationship with a then-unnamed 16-year-old girl in his memoir ”Does This Noise in My Head Bother You?”
So much so, the musician also confessed that he almost ”took a teen bride.” He said, “Her parents fell in love with me [and] signed a paper over for me to have custody so I wouldn’t get arrested if I took her out of state.”
In her suit, Misley said that the Hole in My Soul hitmaker “performed various acts of criminal sexual conduct upon” her. They first met at an Aerosmith concert in Portland.
The alleged plaintiff continued that the rocker was able to convince her mother to allow him to become her legal guardian in 1975. It happened after he flew her to many cities where he was touring and performing sexual acts.
Misley claimed that Tyler did not take care of her as he promised. He continued to travel with, assault, and provide alcohol and drugs to” her.
According to her court docs, she also allegedly eventually got pregnant. After that, the singer forced her to get an abortion telling her he wouldn’t support her anymore if she didn’t.
