Sticky Vicky sadly passed away
RIP! Sticky Vicky is no longer alive among us. The legendary Benidorm performer has passed away at the age of 80.
She took her last breath on Wednesday morning, November 29, around 6 am at the Villajoyosa Hospital.
Daughter Maria Gadea Aragues confirmed the heartbreaking news revealing that her mother died of heart failure. Maria turned 42 on the same day that Vicky passed away.
In remembrance of her mother, she posted a tribute on Facebook. As she wrote,
“I can’t belive it, she has gone surrounded by her family, with all our love, I thank God for being able to always be by her side, I am left with a broken heart.”
Similarly, she disclosed to The Sun that Sticky had spent the past 12 days in the hospital. She told the outlet,
“My mum was in hospital for the last 12 days of her life and as a family we’ve been with her and have been able to say goodbye to her. I was by her bedside when she died this morning. She passed away as they were changing her morphine bottle.”
Vicky was hospitalized in July after injuring her knees while getting into a car.
She was then released from the hospital after a few days, but she was admitted immediately when she complained of pain and an infection.
What was the state of Sticky Vicky’s health?
She struggled with health issues as she aged, battling cancer and undergoing at least two hip replacements.
In 2021, Maria revealed that her mother had “won her fight against cancer with radiotherapy and chemotherapy,” but subsequently she was diagnosed with dementia.
She told at that time,
“My mum’s won her fight against cancer with radiotherapy and chemotherapy but she’s due to have her second replacement hip operation in just under a fortnight’s time.”
“With the coronavirus pandemic everything’s been delayed. She’s using a walker at the moment and she needs help and can’t be on her own in case she falls. She’s also got early onset dementia. It’s something that’s come on quite recently and her memory is still good but it’s obviously something that’s going to get worse.”
Similarly, she continue by acknowledging that she will carry on her mother’s legacy by pursuing acting as a full-time job.
