The guests did not know they were attending a wedding which was a secret till the end.

Former Chief Spokesperson to the vice president of the United States, Symone Sanders, and Washington D.C.’s Night Mayor, Shawn Townsend‘s wedding was a secret until it began on Friday afternoon.

The political power couple tied the knot in front of about 100 family members and friends who had no inkling of their wedding.

After starting this year as the anchor of her own show, MSNBC, Symone is now a beautiful bride.

The pair said I Do in a surprise wedding ceremony at the Larz Anderson House on Embassy Row.

Just a few months ago, Sanders said that the couple was planning to wed in Mexico but changed their minds later.

Among about the 100 guests, only a few knew that they were attending a wedding.

What did the bride and groom say about each other in their wedding speeches?

The groom called his beautiful bride his ride or die and said:

”It’s the moments behind closed doors that we’ve shared.”
”Whether it’s me complaining about Real Housewives, a political debate or photobombing my Zoom calls. It is all time we spent together.”

The emotional bride promised to always be there for her husband and said:

”To put it simply you’re the best man I know. I’m very grateful just for everything that you are.”

After the Pastor proclaimed the couple as husband and wife, they jumped the broom to seal the union.

Things got more fun in the evening when additional guests arrived at the venue to celebrate the couple’s engagement but were shocked to see that they were already married.

The newlyweds will enjoy their new life in Washington for some time. Then in the fall, they will embark on a Mediterranean honeymoon for two weeks.
