Eddie Murphy is one proud father as his daughter tied the knot

Eddie Murphy is elated as he celebrated the wedding of his eldest daughter Bria whom he shares with his former wife Nicole.

Bria married actor Michael Xavier in Beverly Hills on Saturday and Eddie played an important role on his beloved daughter’s big day.

As the proud father of the bride, the 61-year-old actor escorted her down the aisle at the ceremony. Later, he rocked the dance floor for the traditional father-daughter dance.

The dance video that the bride posted on her IG story showed the father and daughter dancing to Steve Wonder‘s hit song Isn’t She Lovely. He later did a solo boogie that made his daughter laugh.

How special is Eddie’s bond with his daughter?

Murphy shares a great relationship with his first child.

In 2020, speaking about his daughter at her L.A. art show, the comedian said:

“I’m glad that people get to see how talented she is.”
“We’ve known for years how talented she is. It’s exciting to see her stuff up on the walls… I’m having all of those proud parent feelings.”

The Grammy winner further added:

“I really got lucky with my kids. There really isn’t a bad one in the bunch, everyone turned out to be really good people.”

The actor is a father to 10 children, Bria being the eldest.

Jasmine Lawrence who is the girlfriend of Eddie’s son Eric, caught the bouquet from Bria hinting that she might be the one joining the family soon.

Other photos that Bria shared on her IG showed Eddie and his fiance Paige Butcher posing for a family picture with the bride and groom.

The bride wore a stylish white off-the-shoulder gown by Netta BenShabu and kept her hair in a beautiful bun.

Bria and Michael got engaged in December and she shared the lovely snaps on Instagram with the caption:

“My heart, my best friend, my forever. I love you, always.” In another upload, she wrote, “I can’t wait to marry you.”
