American former basketball player, Iman Shumpert is 33 now. His wife, Teyana Taylor separated from Iman earlier this year. She announced it in September 2023. And now her official court documents have been made public. What has Teyana written in her divorce documents?

American former basketball player, Iman Shumpert, 33 was married to Teyana Taylor for nearly seven years. They have two daughters: Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert and Rue Rose Shumpert. Iman had delivered Junie with his bare hands in December 2015 when Teyana went into labor suddenly at home. There was no time to reach the hospital. And Rue was born in September 2020 in a hospital.

But now, the two have separated. Teyana filed for divorce in January 2023. On the court documents, she had just put the initials initially. But she announced in September this year on her Instagram that she and Iman have divorced.

The divorce went public when Iman asked that their names be put on the divorce papers and not just their initials.

Radar Online has obtained a copy of the divorce papers. And this is what Teyana has asked in those documents.

Teyana has requested primary custody of her daughters. She has accused Iman of being jealous of her success and trying to manipulate her emotions. Teyana added that despite all odds, she had stood by Iman through thick and thin. She was by his side during his DUI arrest and did not leave him even when he cheated on her on many occasions.

But Teyana stated that she had had enough of all this and could take it no more. Hence, she is asking for divorce. Teyana also accused Iman of moving into a new home and having left her and their children in an under-construction house.

Teyana said that the house in which she is now living with her two children has been under construction for the last three years. The work could not be completed because Iman did not put in his share of the money for it. Her lawyer said:

“The parties had an agreement for [Teyana] to pay for a majority of the renovations including the bedrooms and five (5) bathrooms, which have been paid for and completed. [Iman] had only two (2) areas of the home to renovate, neither of which is paid for or complete.”

The lawyer added:

“In fact, [Iman’s] contractors recently informed [Teyana] that [Iman] is not going to pay for the renovations to the home that [Iman] started three (3) years ago, which remain incomplete. [Iman’s] failure to complete the renovations he started further demonstrates the spitefulness of [Teyana] and the utter lack of concern for the safety of the parties’ two (2) minor children.”

Iman allegedly also encashed the insurance check that was supposed to be used for the repair of their first marital residence. Her lawyer revealed:

“[Iman] put the proceeds of the check into his personal bank account, kept all of the money, but never fixed the roof on the primary marital residence where [Teyana] and the parties’ minor children reside.”
