Scott Wilson who was famous for his role as Hershel Greene on the zombie drama series on AMC is dead. The announcement about his death came on the Twitter account of The Walking Dead comic book.
The post read:
“We are deeply saddened to report that Scott Wilson, the incredible actor who played Hershel on #TheWalkingDead, has passed away at the age of 76.
“Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Rest in paradise, Scott. We love you!”

It is learned that he was battling cancer. He is survived by his wife named Heavenly, who is also an artist and an attorney.
AMC pays tribute to the veteran actor
During the New York comic con, the panel of The Walking Dead had announced that Scott Wilson would be part of the show’s ninth season. He had already filmed all the required scenes before his death.
AMC paid tribute to this iconic actor and said:
“Scott will always be remembered as a great actor and we all feel fortunate to have known him as an even better person. The character he embodied on ‘The Walking Dead,’ Hershel, lived at the emotional core of the show. Like Scott in our lives, Hershel was a character whose actions continue to inform our characters’ choices to this day. Our hearts go out to his wife, family, friends and to the millions of fans who loved him. Scott will be missed.”
Yvette Nicole Brown tweeted and said that Scott was a wonderful man. She wrote:

His friend and activist Arlin Miller said:
“I loved him. Scott was a great actor and a wonderful man who was always looking out for the best interests of the union and his fellow actors.”

About Scott Wilson
Scott had been in the show The Walking Dead from 2011 to 2014. His role was that of Hershel Greene who was a rural farmer. He was a regular cast member in the second, third, and fourth seasons.
He was shown to have lost a leg in season three of the show and in the fourth season, he was killed and his role terminated.
If we look back at his life and bio-related to it, we see that he was born in Atlanta on 29 March 1942 and graduated high school in 1960. He did not pursue his college studies and migrated to Los Angeles to become an actor.
After five years of struggle period, he began getting high-profile movies and these included In the Heat of the Night, In Cold Blood, and the like. He also had a vital role in 1974’s film The Great Gatsby.
He received nominated for several prestigious awards. Wilson was also cast in The Right Stuff, Dead Man Walking, The Last Samurai, The Heartbreak Kid, Hostiles, Pearl Harbor, and Judge Dredd. He also played recurring roles in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
He also worked for the actors’ benefit and was a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
