Tom Brady jokes about returning to the NFL
Tom Brady recently joked that his family would kill him if he ever went back to the NFL again.
On Monday’s episode of his Let’s Go! podcast, the former quarterback said,
“I am not coming out of retirement,”
“My parents would call, my kids would call. They’d kill me. I wouldn’t be around by tonight.”
The athlete denied the possibility after his guest for the episode, Mr. Beast suggested that his podcast’s ratings would go higher if he returned to football again.
However, co-host Jim Gray noted that the Super Bowl champion already did that once when he came back for another season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers shortly after announcing his retirement in February 2022.
Brady interrupted,
“As I said, you’re only allowed one unretirement. And I’ve used it up,”
Brady, 46, officially said goodbye to professional football in February, a year after he returned to the field. His return was reportedly the main reason for his split with Gisele Bundchen.
An insider explained at the time,
“There’s been trouble in the marriage over his decision to un-retire. Gisele has always been the one with the kids.”
“They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind.”

Tom Brady’s decision to unretire contributed to his divorce
The now-exes, who are parents to daughter Vivian, 10, and son Benjamin, 13, finalized their divorce in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage.
At the time, the supermodel, 43, said that she and the athlete had grown apart.
Just a month before that, the Brazilian beauty recalled asking her estranged husband to be more present with his family over his career.
In September 2022, she told Elle magazine,
“I’ve done my part, which is [to] be there for [my husband],”
“I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams.”
The former Victoria’s Secret angel continued,
“Seeing my children succeed and become the beautiful little humans that they are, seeing him succeed, and being fulfilled in his career — it makes me happy,”
The issue was there for years and Brady even told Howard Stern in 2020 that Giselle was not happy with the time he was not able to give his family.
He explained,
“[She] didn’t feel like I was doing my part,”
“She felt like I would play football all season and she would take care of the house. She wasn’t satisfied with our marriage.”
After the bitter divorce, the duo is doing their best to amicably co-parent their two kids.
