Tyler Christopher has sadly passed away!

RIP! Tyler Christopher, who was best known for his role as Nikolas Cassadine in General Hospital, is no longer alive among us. He was just 50.

He took his last breath on Tuesday, October 30 in his San Diego apartment. Christopher died due to a cardiac arrest. His death was confirmed by his fellow General Hospital co-star Maurice Benard.

Maurice shared a pair of photos of the beloved actor on his Instagram post and wrote,

“It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Tyler Christopher, Tyler passed away this morning following a cardiac event in his San Diego apartment.”

Christopher was described as a talented actor who brought joy to his fans. He praised the late actor with a heartwarming statement,

“Tyler was a sweet soul and wonderful friend to all of those who knew him,”

Besides Benard talked about his struggle with mental health. He continued,

“Tyler was an advocate for better mental health and substance use treatment who openly spoke about his struggles with bipolar depression and alcohol. We are beyond devastated by the loss of our dear friend and pray for his children and his father.”

Executive producer Frank Valentini also took to Instagram to mourn the death of Tyler Christopher with the heartbreaking statement.

“I am heartbroken over the news of Tyler Christopher’s passing. He was kind, an incredible actor and a dear friend, who was beloved by our #GH family and fans of Nikolas Cassadine, On behalf of everyone at [‘General Hospital’] our heartfelt sympathies go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.”

He is survived by his two children, whom she shared with his ex-wife sports reporter Brienne Pedigo.

Tyler Christopher: Career History

Tyler made his television debut on America’s longest-running soap opera, General Hospital. In 1996, he joined the show and later left the show for a brief time.

After that, he starred in the comedy-drama ‘Catfish in Black Bean Sauce’ where he portrayed the role of Michael. In the following year, he appeared as ‘Dan’ in a small film titled ‘Face the Music’.

Similarly, he returned to the GH show in 2003 and starred as ‘Nikolas’ doppelganger, ‘Conner Bishop’. He also won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead.

Besides, he was also known for his role as Stefan DiMera on “Days of Our Lives” from 2018 to 2019.

In addition, he appeared in guest roles in several series such as ‘The Pretender,’ ‘Charmed,’ ‘Angel,’ and ‘Family Law’. His other credits series include ‘The Division,’ ‘JAG,’ ‘Boomtown,’ ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, ‘ and ‘The Twilight Zone’.
