Babygirl Lisa or Lisa Hamme and Usman Umar had met each other through a mutual friend. The two started talking. Usman was an aspiring rapper from Nigeria.

But Lisa was not sure whether she should trust Usman. She had a, doubt that he was probably a scammer looking for some help to enter the USA.

Lisa spoke about it:

“We met online,”
“We met through a mutual friend out of the UK. I knew her, she knew him, and he was looking for a female companion. And I just knew her reputation, I’m like, uh, I don’t know about this…but send him through my filtered messaging, and I’ll see what it’s about.”

Despite all odds, Babygirl decided to give Usman a chance.

Recalling the time, Babygirl said:

“I was 49 and Usman was 29 when we first met. And when we first met, I’ll be honest with you…I honestly thought, oh, great, another yahoo boy out of Nigeria that’s going to harass me to no end. And I gave him the benefit of the doubt because I don’t like that stigma.”

The reason why Usman married Babygirl

On his Instagram Live, Usman disclosed the reason why he wed Lisa. He said:

“I’m doing this to make Lisa happy,”

Usman did not know what would happen when Lisa would come to visit him in Nigeria. He said:

“I just have to let her come and give her a trial.”

At First, Usman expressed his love for Lisa but later felt that he will not be able to carry on with it. Therefore though he did not love her, he wed her to keep her happy.

He claimed that Lisa had told him that she would die by suicide if he did not marry her. Hence he decided to continue and marry her.

The rapper said:

“That’s how it happened. Because if I didn’t love her,” Lisa said she’d “kill herself.”

However, in the episode of the show, he had said:

“I want to go to America. So, I will do anything possible to make sure that it will happen.”

So ultimately it is whose happiness that the two wed. Besides, he also mentioned that he might remarry someone:

“I’m allowed to get married to four wives,”

That may be the case in Nigeria but not in the USA. So how is he going to remarry after coming to the USA is a mystery!
