Uzo Aduba is ready to start her motherhood journey! The Orange Is the New Black alum, 42, is pregnant, expecting her first child with her filmmaker husband Robert Sweeting.

She debuts her baby bump on Sunday evening, June 11, on the 2023 Tony Awards red carpet. For the event, she opted for an unbuttoned orange Christian Siriano suit jacket flaunting her growing baby bump.

She paired her look with a matching orange bra and slacks. Similarly, she is accessorized with David Webb jewelry and opted for Alexandre Birman shoes and a Judith Leiber clutch.

An insider told PEOPLE,

“The happy couple is over the moon about their growing family and are excited to be parents,”

The pregnancy news comes almost three years after the pair got hitched in an intimate ceremony held in New York.

In September 2021, it was confirmed that Adubu quietly tied the knot to Robert Sweeting in a New York ceremony in 2020. The actress took to Instagram to announce the marriage news sharing photos from their big day while quoting When Harry Met Sallly.

Uzo began,

As soon as Uzo debut her baby bump on Tony’s red carpet, she took to Instagram to announce her pregnancy news. She shared a video of herself showing the baby bodysuit and captioned the video,

“What a blessing. My husband Robert and I are so happy to enter this next chapter together as parents. I am beyond excited. I get to be someone’s Mommy! I know as the three of us continue to grow, our only, ONLY goal will be to love you, little one. My goodness. Look what God has done.”

On Instagram, she paid a sweet tribute to her mom alongside all the mothers out there on the occasion of Mother’s Day last month. She wrote,

“Happy beautiful Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there. I honor all of you. I was so blessed to have a great mother who I am truly grateful to have had, here, for so many remarkable years. I wish we could have had even more, seen even more together in the physical, but I know we are sharing and making so many new memories together in the spiritual,”
