Valerie Bertinelli is back in the dating game!

The Food Network alum, 63, announced that she is in a relationship with a “special” man over a year after finalizing her divorce from Tom Vitale.

In an interview with USA Today, she said,

“I’ve met someone. And I’m incredibly grateful for him,”
“It’s unlike any relationship that I’ve ever experienced with a man.”

She added,

“I don’t want to say too much, but I feel incredibly blessed and lucky to have met him because I wasn’t expecting it.”

Without revealing her beau’s name, Valerie said,

“He was not on my radar. I was going to die with my six cats and my dog and be incredibly happy doing it. So this came out of left field, and I’m grateful it did. He’s very special,”

The Hot In Cleveland alum also said that her new man came around at a perfect time.

She shared,

“I really want women and men to take away that it’s the work that you do [on yourself] that can lead you to meeting someone like I’ve been lucky enough to meet right now,”
“This would not have happened three years ago, four years ago, last year — it wouldn’t have. And I feel incredibly lucky to have met him and made a connection with him.”

Bertinelli’s past marriage and kids

Betinelli finalized her divorce from Tom in November 2022. The star agreed to pay her former husband $2.2 million as a part of their divorce settlement. The millions were an addition to the $500,000 she already transferred to him in May 2022.

The One Day at a Time alum met the financial planner and entrepreneur Vitale — also CEO of e-commerce company Veebow — in 2004. They got engaged in March 2010.

The couple said I DO in January 2021. However, just after a decade together, Valerie filed for a legal separation from her estranged husband in November 2021.

This was not Bertinelli’s first marriage. She was previously married to the late Eddie Van Halen from 1981 until 2007. The legendary rocker passed away from cancer in 2020 at the age of 65.

The couple had a son together, Wolfgang, now 32. Vitale had four of his children from a previous marriage.
