Naomi Judd, a country music artist, passed away on April 30, 2022. The Grammy Award winner died at the age of 76. Judd’s daughter, Ashley Judd, confirmed the news on Twitter on Saturday.
The family hasn’t specified the cause of her death, however, an autopsy report has been released on Friday, August 26.
The autopsy report officially confirmed that the country music star died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound i.e, suicide.

Her cause of death was confirmed by the Williamson County medical examiner in Tennessee, who stated that Judd had a history of anxiety, despair.
Similarly, Judd had left a “note with suicidal overtones” near the scene.
What did Naomi Judd’s family say after learning the reason for death?
Naomi Judd’s family has expressed their grief following the confirmation of the singer’s cause of death in an autopsy report.
On Friday, the family issued a statement to The Associated Press. The statement reads,
“We have always shared openly both the joys of being family as well its sorrows, too. One part of our story is that our matriarch was dogged by an unfair foe. She was treated for PTSD and bipolar disorder, to which millions of Americans can relate.”
Prior to the statement, both Ashley and Wynonna have spoken about their grief and losing their mother to suicide.
Similarly, Naomi passed away one day before she was set to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The Judds played “Love Can Build a Bridge” at the 2022 CMT Awards and announced their 10-city tour, “The Final Tour,” just weeks before her death.
Wynonna later stated that she would continue the tour in order to honor her mother.
