Moving to his academics, Wil Willis graduated from high school in 1993. Later, he also joined New York Film Academy with Honors in media and communication.

After graduating from High School, he joined the US Military Army as a 3rd Ranger Battalion. He served in the position till February 1998. Later, in June 1998, he became 1T271 Pararescue in the Air Force. For the air force, he served till August 2008.

Following that, he joined the Assessment and Training Solutions. At first, he was serving as the program manager. Later, he was promoted to be the regional director of Operations.

In between, Wil Willis entered the TV and Film industry as a host of the competitive series, Forged in Fire that aired on History TV.

In each episode of the series, four bladesmiths compete in a three-round elimination contest to forge bladed weapons. Prior to that, he appeared in the movies like Beerfest, In the Valley of Elah, Waste of Time, and Sovereign as an actor. He hosted the series for five years till April 2020.

As of now, the host is exploring his career as a producer.
