A well known actress Shannon Purser admits that she is bisexual. Hear about her lifestyle

Nowadays, being bisexual is a common issue. Everyone admits that they are bisexual without any hesitance. This news tells about Shannon Purser who admits that she is bisexual.

Being a bisexual

Stranger Things star Shannon Purser has come out as bisexual one week after admitting she’s suffered anxiety over her sexuality.

The actress who had a breakout role as Barb on the hit show and now stars on Riverdale, posted a candid message on Twitter on Tuesday, April 18, and revealed she is still trying to come to terms with her feelings.

She shared an emotional message on Twitter after receiving backlash for a now-deleted tweet directed to the fans of the CW’s Archie reboot “shipping” two of the show’s main female characters, Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge, who locked lips in a previous episode.

Symptoms of sexuality

She is known as the iconic Barb but she has moved on to sexier waters, playing Ethel Muggs on a few episodes of the CW’s teen drama.

In an early episode of the show, lead characters Veronica and Betty share an extremely performative kiss that has both angered some members of the LGBT community and provided fodder for folks shipping them as a couple. Purser commented to co-star Cole Sprouse about, “angry Veronica stans.”

She was then apparently inundated with messages about representations and the use of faux-lesbianism for rating boosts. She responded in a few tweets.

A few hours later, Purser shared a longer note about her sexuality, coming out as bisexual and also admitting that she’s new to this knowledge and the queer community.

“I don’t do this normally, but I figure now is just as good a time as any to get personal. I’ve only just recently come out as bisexual to my family and friends. It’s something I am still processing and trying to understand and I don’t like talking about it too much. I’m very very new to the LGBT community. I have never heard the term ‘queer-bating’ in my life until today. That being said, I have never ever wanted to alienate anyone and my tweet was thoughtless. I wasn’t  referring to all the Veronica shippers, just the ones who had been particularly cruel to me personally. Either way, it wasn’t a wise or kind thing to say and I’m disappointed in myself, especially as a Christian who has always been taught to speak love to other. Thank you to all the people who kindly reached out to me and educate me about the reality your feeling about queer-baiting and I apologize to those who were hurt. Much love-Shannon.”

Purser has also shared her views on another Netflix show, 13 Reasons Why, with her Twitter followers this week. She tweeted,

“I would advise against watching 13 Reasons Why if you currently struggle with suicidal thoughts or self-harm/have undergone sexual assault. There are some very graphic scenes in there that could easily trigger painful memories and feelings. Please protect yourselves.”

While Shannon’s tweets are extremely open and vulnerable, they always end with an optimistic outlook for the future. The actress tweeted an hour after coming out, “Psalms 42 God is too kind to me.”
