Melanie Martin, Aaron Carter‘s fiancee is doing her best to raise their son, Prince after the latter passed away tragically last month.

Martin celebrated their son’s first birthday at Chuck E. Cheese, just weeks after the late star died under mysterious circumstances at his California home.

The doting mom celebrated her son’s special day with her family and friends in Costa Mesa, California. However, she made sure that Aaron was present in spirit with them on a special day.

Martin acknowledged The I Want Candy singer’s presence throughout the nostalgic evening as she carried a massive photo collage of the late singer.

Melanie and her son, both looked happy as she carried him around the venue surrounded by her supportive friends.

Prince also looked delighted as he got a chance to meet Chuck E. Cheese and he gave a high five to the mascot.

Martin’s pals were very attentive to the baby as one helped the birthday boy take a photo inside a Chuck E. Cheese car and another lovingly carried Prince around as they went outside.

Alongside the photo collage, Melanie also let a bouquet of balloons fly into the night sky, as a gesture of love for her late fiancee.

The model also took to her Instagram account to share a video of the happy/sad moment and captioned it:

‘… have to be strong for our son.’

Melanie also shared cute pictures from her son’s birthday on her IG account including the video of a billboard in Times Square featuring Aaron and Prince.

She even admitted that Prince’s birthday was going to be tough without his father’s presence as she shared a montage of the father-son duo.

The grieving mother captioned the post:

”Happy birthday to my baby boy Prince Lyric Carter… Today is going to be a tough one for me but I know your daddy is playing birthday songs for you up in heaven I love you baby boy!!!’

Martin made sure she paid tribute to Aaron in every way possible as she even brought her son’s birthday cake with a picture of Aaron cradling Prince in his arms.

Carter died a mysterious death at a young age

Carter died in his bathtub in his home in Lancaster, California on November 5. He was only 34.

While the cause of his death is still under investigation, police reportedly found many cans of compressed air and bottles of prescription pills at the scene.

Carter’s body was discovered by his housekeeper Betty, who had been living at the house for three weeks. Aaron and Melanie hired Betty, who was homeless, to look after their house after one of their friends’ mansions was broken into.

At the time of his death, Aaron and Melanie were living together.

In an interview in August, Carter said that he’s been into rehab four times and was finally getting it right. He also went back to an outpatient program the next month to address his triggers.

Neighbors describe the couple’s relationship as tempestuous. This is because they often heard the couple fighting and shouting at each other and called the police at least three times.

Aaron’s real estate agents were consoling Melanie on the day his death was announced.

Later, she issued a statement saying:

”My fiancé Aaron Carter has passed away. I love Aaron with all my heart and it’s going to be a journey to raise a son without a father. Please respect the privacy of my family as we come to terms with the loss of someone we love greatly. We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.”

The couple fought over the custody of their son. Aron tried his best to be a good dad so he could keep Prince with him.

Carter died leaving a will, which means the state will decide who will inherit his property.
