Abraham Benrubi is an American actor best known for his roles in TV drama ER, Parker Lewis Can’t Lose and movie Without a Paddle.

Benrubi is a member of Los Angeles’ Sacred Fools Theater Company.

He is doing the voice-over in upcoming British- American animated series It’s Pony (2020).

Early Life, family, Education

Benrubi was born on October 4, 1969, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the US as Abraham Rubin Hercules Benrubi.

He is the eldest son of Patricia and Asher Benrubi. His father was a rock singer and is currently a radio personality known as “Smash” to St. Louis radio audiences.

He was born in Jewish family members but later he changed into Judaism.

His mother, Patricia, divorced when Abe was 6. He then stayed in Indianapolis with his mother. While living there, he developed an interest in comic books. He would get so wrapped up in the characters and stories that he would begin to act out what he had read in the comic books. This is when he started to like acting.

So in grade school, he started taking acting lessons and studying theatre. He started getting a few roles here and there for the local theatre.

Standing at 6 foot 7 inches tall (now), you might think that he grew up being a bully.

Benrubi graduated from Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis.

Career in TV

Benrubi’s first major role was on the show Wings. 

He began working on NBC’s ER.

In 1990, he worked in Parker Lewis Can’t Lose.

He also made an appearance in a flashback bout of Roseanne where he performed a Dan Conner

He starred as one of the main characters in ABC’s show Men in Trees.

Following the cancellation of Men In Trees in early 2007, Benrubi returned to the cast of ER in late 2008 for the show’s final season.

His works can be seen in  Happy Town, Memphis Beat, Robot Chicken, The Bridges and, APB, to name few.

In addition, it has appeared in TV movie Cold Feet, Tempting Fate, A Touch of Hope, Pizza Time, The Garcias Have Landed and Chance at Romance.

Career in Film

Benrubi’s debut movie is the 1990’s Diving In.

He then appeared in many movies like Crossing The Bridge, The Program, The Shadow, Twister, George of the Jungle, U Tum, Out in Fifty, Like. Share. Follow, Bliss to name few.

Voice Acting

Benrubi did voice over for animated movies The Rugrats Movie, Charlotte’s Web, Big Hero 6, Olfa’s Frozen Adventure and in video games such as Mystery Island II, Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition, Heroes of Strom, World of Warcraft and many more.
