Casper Van Dien is an American Actor who is famous for his lead role as Johnny Rico in the science fiction movie Starship Troopers (1997). 

His other well-known movies include “Isra 88”, “The Pact”, and “Sleepy Hollow”. He has worked on movies like Cutaway, Starship Troopers: Invasion, and Shiver, and television shows like Titans, Watch Over Me, One Life to Live, The Colony, Patient Killer, and many more.

He is currently 55 years old and holds an American nationality. He was born to Diane, a nursery school teacher, and Casper Robert Van Dien Sr, a US Navy Commander and fighter pilot. Casper belongs to a military family, as his father, and grandfather were a Marine during World War II.

Casper comes from a Dutch family, also his other heritage includes Sedish, French, and English.

Talking about his educational background, Van Dien enrolled at Admiral Farragut Academy’s St. Peterburg Campus where he graduated from 3rd in command. After graduation, he went to Florida State University in Tallahassee where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

He was seen in the second sequel to 1982, The Beatmaster, as King Tal in Beastmaster III: The Eye of Braxus. Then, he played the role of James Dean in his biopic movie titled “James Dean: Race with Destiny.

Casper’s big success was a science fiction action movie Starship Troopers in 1997 appearing in the role of Johny Rico. He again reprised his role as Rico in 2008 in a direct-to-video sequel, titled Starship Troopers 3: Marauder. 

Furthermore, Van Dien has been seen in many movies like Tarzan and the Lost City (1998), Sleepy Hollow (1999), Cutaway(2000), The Rules of Attraction (2002), Born to Ride (2011), Shiver (2012), Assumed Killer (2013), Avengers Grimm (2015), and many more.

In the second season of the YouTube web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy, Casper played the role of Johny Cage replacing Matt Mullins. Later, he became part of the independent movie Daughter in 2020.

In addition, Casper has starred in the web series ‘Deadpool The Musical 2-Ultimate Disney Parody(2018), ‘Crunch Time(2016), and ‘Mortal Kombat: Legacy(2013).
