RIP! Adan Canto sadly passed away at the age of 42

Andan Canto is no longer alive among us! The Mexican actor, who was best known for his roles in ‘Designated Survivor’ and ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’, has passed away.

He died at the age of 42 after battling from appendiceal cancer. His death was confirmed by his publicist Jennifer Allen with a heartfelt statement that reads,

“Adan had a depth of spirit that few truly knew. Those who glimpsed it were changed forever. … He will be greatly missed by so many.”

Adan is survived by his wife Stephanie Ann Canto and two young children Roman Adler, 3, and Eve Josephine, 18 months.

The Mexico-born actor made his breakthrough in American television with the 2013 Fox thriller ‘The Following’ starring alongside Kevin Bacon.

He then made his big-screen debut in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. After that, he appeared in the movies like Amanda & Jack Go Glamping (2017), and Bruised (2020).

His other acting credits include “Blood and Oil,” “Agent Game,” “Second Chance,” and more. Besides acting, Canto was a skilled musician and wrote songs for several Mexican TV shows.

He also directed two short films including Before Tomorrow (2014) and The Shot (2020).

As soon as Andan’s death was confirmed many took to social media platforms to express their deep condolence to the actor’s family.

Fox and WBTV released a heartfelt statement mourning the death of the beloved actor. The statement reads,

“We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Adan Canto. A wonderful actor and dear friend, we have been honoured to have him as part of the Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment families since his US debut in The Following  more than a decade ago.”

“Most recently, he lit up the screen in The Cleaning Lady with a powerful performance that showcased his artistry, rang, depth, and vulnerability. This is an unfathomable loss, and we grieve alongside his wife Stephanie, their children, and loved ones. We will miss Adan dearly.”

X-Men co-star Halle Berry also paid an emotional tribute to the actor with an Instagram post. She wrote,

“I don’t have the words just yet…. but my dear sweet friend Adan just gained his wings. Forever, forever in my heart.”

Kiefer Sutherland shared a photo of the two from the set of ‘Designated Survivor’ on his remembrance and captioned it,

“It seems lately I have had to make too many posts like this one, but I an heartbroken by the loss of Adan Canto. He was such a wonderful spirit, As an actor his desire to do well, to be great, and then do better, was truly impressive and he will be greatly missed. I am also heartbroken for his wife, Steph and his two young children. Adan, may you rest in peace,”
