Another life has been snatched away too soon and too fast. Ashley Mattingly is no more.
She was a former Playboy Playmate and died at age of 33.
It was an apparent case of suicide.

Ashley Mattingly commits suicide

Ashley Mattingly died by suicide on Thursday 16 April 2020. Her family confirmed that she died and left behind a suicide note.

Ashley’s brother, William, and her sister, Christy made a statement that read:

“We learned late Thursday night that our dear sister with a larger-than-life personality took her own life.”

The statement further said:

“Ashley moved closer to home a couple years ago and was living in Austin. It’s maybe no secret that Ashley struggled with alcohol and substance abuse, but she wanted to and was working toward getting better. We are now loving on her sweet golden retriever puppy that she recently adopted to overcome these demons.
“She will continue to live on through nieces whom she loved dearly and always thought of no matter how far away she was, a twin brother, two sisters and numerous other friends and family members. We will forever cherish her memories and know that her joy is eternally sealed. We look forward to seeing her again.”

In the end, it said:

“Our hope is that Ashley’s story can continue to shed a light on suicide awareness and prevention. We love you Ashley.”

More details on the death

A friend of the model Ashley did not hear from her for some time. Hence she called the police and requested them a wellness check on her house. It was then that the police found out that she is no more. They then informed her siblings of her death due to apparent suicide.

Ashley’s siblings were unable to get hold of the suicide note. Hence they are unaware of the exact contents of the note. But the police have it and are investigating the cause of her death. The Austin Police department told PEOPLE that the incident happened in Bee Cave, Texas.

Ashley’s death has shocked and saddened her friend circle and colleagues. Carrie Stevens, a fellow Playmate of the late Ashley said:

“I am devastated. My friend #ashleymattingly took her own life. If you are struggling please reach out for help. She was only 33 RIP #playmatesister,”
