Asma Al Thani is a Qatari sports aspirant female

She became the first Qatari woman to complete The Explorers Grand Slam Challenge.

She is working under Qatar Olympic Committee as a Director of Marketing and Communications since 2015.

Also, she is the first Arab female and Qatari to ski both the South and the North Pole.

In a charitable endeavor to raise some QAR 2 million funds to build schools for Gaza, she listed herself among the 1st group of Qatari women to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in October 2014.

She was football captain in school for 3 years in a row.

In early 2014 when she encountered the list she strived to do all those things.

In Doha Women Forum 2018, she stated that in the year 2015, she was inspired by the US Paralympian runner team of a guide and bind.

She added that’s when she valued trust and team spirit.

Talking about her body features, she is extremely fit which led her to a successful mountaineering career.

Besides her fitness, she is relatively shorter as she mentions herself as a shortie.

Recently on Jan 12, 2020, Asma became the first Qatari woman to ski to the South Pole and climb Mt. Vinson.

Asma Al Thani got famous across the world while involved with a European-Arab team of 11 women unguided trekking to the North Pole to improve understanding between cultures and inspire other women to fulfill their ambitions in April 2018.

Sheikha Asma previously conquered Mount Aconcagua in 2019, Ama Dablam, and Mount Kilimanjaro in 2014.

She became the first Qatar female to climb 8000 meters mountain without oxygen.

Philosophy

Asma believed, ‘Education has the power to transform lives and create peaceful and just societies.’

She had teamed up with Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, a global education foundation established in 2012 to work on marginalized women and children.

Already, she has visited local schools in Qatar to tell them about her route to Everest, to teach them about mountaineering, and ultimately, to inspire them to always dream bigger.
