Alan Davies is one of the UK’s funniest comedians. His wife is Katie Maskell and the two have been married now for over a decade.

Katie Maskell’s married life with Alan Davies

Katie Maskell and Alan are married for over 10 years. The couple walked down the aisle together on 13 January 2007. Alan Davies’ friend and comedy partner Bill Bailey served as the best man at his wedding.

Their love story started after they had met backstage when they were taping for QI in the year 2005. Recalling that time, she said:

“I got quite pissed. I was sitting on a bar stool and met Alan. And I wasn’t familiar with his stand-up. I knew of Jonathan Creek but I’d never watched it. So I didn’t have any preconceptions.”

They started dating and Katie said once in an interview:

“How refreshing to have someone entertaining.’ He’s very good company.”

And six months later, Alan proposed to her.

The couple’s children

The couple has three children together. The eldest is daughter Suzie Davies who was born in the year 2009 in December. Stephen Fry had disclosed the news of the delivery on his Twitter handle:

“It’s a girl cub. Little Susie.”

The second child is the son Robert Davies who was born two years later in 2011. Their third baby is son Francis Davies whom they welcomed in 2016. Talking about this child, Alan had said:

I didn’t want a third child. My wife did so I cracked’

The couple resides in North London with their kids. Katie is credited with having stability in his life which was motherless from the start. His mother died when he was 6 years old.

He and his swings were not allowed to talk about their mother. They could not grieve. He used to be in trouble often in childhood and also later in life.

Katie Maskell is an author and a former literary agent. She used to do a few acting jobs and also worked in a pub. She played a role in Strange Little Girls in 2004.

Talking about her acting, she said:

“I had this audition to play a stripper in an episode of The Vice. I got halfway there and thought: It would be the world’s most awkward strip. There’s probably nothing sadder than a failed strip. I just can’t pull it off.’ And then I got sacked by my agent,”
