Tearful Brendan Fraser Accepts His First Best Actor Award for The Whale at the 2023 Oscars!

Brendan Fraser was all emotional when he won his first-ever Oscar for his heart-touchingly beautiful movie The Whale.
The actor wiped away tears while giving his emotional winning speech for Best Actor at the 2023 Oscars.
Fraser received a nomination alongside incredibly talented actors like Colin Farrell, Paul Mescal, Austin Butler, and Bill Nighy.
While putting nautical references in his speech, Brendan said that “only whales can swim at the depth” referring to his wonderful co-star Hong Chau.
Also talking about his 3-decade-long career in Hollywood, Fraser revealed that there were aspects of his journey that “I didn’t appreciate at the time until it stopped.”
Brendan, 54, also thanked his director by saying,
“I’m grateful to Darren Aronofsky for throwing me a creative lifeline.”
“I just wanted to say thank you for this acknowledgement,”
The Bedazzled star also addressed his fellow nominees by saying,
“You laid your whale-sized hearts so we could see into your souls, like no-one else could do, and it is my honour to be named alongside you in this category.”
The talented actor ended his touching speech by thanking his children and his “best first mate,” partner Jeanne Moore.
His historic win at the Oscars comes after his big wins at a SAG Award and Critics Choice Award for his amazing performance in The Whale.
The movie became a turning point in Fraser’s career after years away from the Hollywood spotlight.

The Whale was Fraser’s comeback after a long break from movies
Fraser was a big movie star at the turn of the millennium who starred in massive hits like George of the Jungle and The Mummy.
But after that, his career slowed down as he stepped out of the spotlight. He struggled to match his earlier success by mostly playing smaller roles.
But everything changed and his career came alive when he was cast in The Whale as an overweight professor trying to mend his broken relationship with his estranged daughter.
Brendan’s transformation in the film also won best make-up and hairstyling.
Fans were delighted to see Fraser win his first Oscar.
