Britt Stewart and Daniel Durant took the next step in their relationship.
The actor, 34, popped the question to his dancer girlfriend on Christmas Day, just a day after Durant turned 34.
The couple got engaged in front of their family during a hike near Lake Arrowhead, California, at the top of a mountain.
Meanwhile, the proposal was witnessed by Stewart’s mom and stepdad, Jasmin and Lonnie Speed, and Durant’s moms, Lori Durant and Mary Engels.
Daniel gushed about their special Day with PEOPLE, revealing he began to tear up. He recalled,
“I was the last one — and I started talking about the year, about us meeting and everything that happens in life. I just feel like there’s balance. She sees me. She knows my culture, my language, and understands everything about me,”

Adding to that the 34-year-old professional dancer said,
“We were both emotional, overwhelmed with joy and at peace knowing that this would eventually be part of our story, It felt like magic, but at the same time, it felt right and normal.”
Britt Stewart made a sweet engagement announcement on Instagram
Britt announced their engagement with a joined Instagram post that included a pair of beautiful images of them.
The two shared a lovely hug in the first photo, with Stewart’s one hand wrapped around Daniel and her other proudly flaunting her engagement ring.
In the second picture, they shared a sweet kiss in front of a woodsy scenery as they both dressed in casual hiking attire.
Further, the soon-to-be bride also captioned the post simply writing,
“Forever!!”
As soon as Stewart announced her engagement on Instagram, many quickly flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages.
Alexis Warr Burton and Julianne Hough are also among them who showered their love and support to the couple.

A Cute Love Story of Britt Stewart and Daniel Durant
Britt and Daniel met on the Dancing with the Stars season 31 set, which aired from September to November 2022.
They were originally dance partners on the show, where they marked fifth place.
Shortly after, the duo went public with their relationship that they are dating. On 2023 Valentine’s Day, the CODA actor shared a sweet selfie of them embracing on a boardwalk and captioned it,
“My Valentine. Happy Valentine’s Day!”
Similarly, Durant told PEOPLE that their romance didn’t blossom until they were eliminated from the competition. He clarified,
“I’m a really competitive person, I wanted to win this thing and so I saw that in her and we trained,”
He noted that Stewart instantly learned American Sign Language (ASL) from him as she taught him to dance. As a result, they didn’t need his ASL interpreter as often during rehearsals, which helped their relationship to grow stronger.
Stewart described,
“When I met him and found out he was my partner on Dancing with the Stars, immediately I was like, I must learn ASL because I’m teaching him how to dance. I’m not going to use his interpreter,”
She continues reflecting on how their friendship has developed over time, expressing,
“It’s funny, I remember us meeting. I remember us as teammates. I remember us as best friends, and then I remember us together. And now it feels like we’ve just been together for forever.”
