Camila Cabello is not mourning her second split from singer Shawn Mendes.

The Bam Bam singer is dating again after calling it quits with her former boyfriend Shawn Mendes after reconciling their romance a few weeks ago.

The Senorita collaborators went separate ways in November 2021, after two years of romance. But in April, Cabello, 26, and Mendes, 24, shocked fans when they showed PDA at Coachella.

A source told People magazine then that the exes “always seemed to have a special connection” and had “been friendly for months.”

During their brief reconciliation, the two were spotted numerous times in New York City and Los Angeles and even were not afraid to show PDA.

Their last public outing, where they showed heavy affection, was at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Stop in New Jersey in late May. However, they had already ended things in early June.

On June 9, the Stitches hitmaker released a new song, What the Hell Are We Dying For? which fans thought hinted at a breakup.

Referencing the smoke that engulfed New York City after the massive Canadian wildfire, he sings,

“Smoke in the air, the city’s burnin’ down / I wanna speak, but I don’t make a sound,”
“Locked in my mind, you’re all I think about / I wanna save us, but I don’t know how.”

Camila dedicated a song to her second split from Shawn

Shawn Mendes also revealed on Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 that the inspiration for the song came while he struggled with feelings about his love life.

He said at the time,

“I was upstate New York and just on the back end of feeling a lot of things about relationships, about my career, about [the] environment,”
“And I was in the studio and this moment of just deep frustration came over me and I finally started to feel this inspiration come.”

Mendes explained that he still feels very confused about his situation and that his songs are his way of expressing those hidden thoughts.

Camila, for her part, also hinted at their short romance in a song that she shared on social media in April, shortly after kissing Mendes at Coachella.

She sang in her song named June Gloom,

“How come you’re just so much better? / Is this gonna end ever? / I guess I’ll f— around and find out / Are you coming to Coachella? / If you don’t, it’s whatever / If you do, honey, it’ll be all I think about,”

Camila and Shawn first dated in July 2019 for nearly two years.
