Kathie Lee Gifford is soon going to be the grandmother to daughter Cassidy Gifford’s child

Cassidy Gifford, the daughter of Kathie Lee Gifford and her late husband Frank Gifford, is currently pregnant with her first child.

The 29-year-old model took to Instagram on Friday, December 16, to announce the happy news that she and her husband Ben Wierda are expecting their first child together.

She shared a photo of three Christman stockings hanging on the fireplace mantle and captioned it,

“A whole lot extra to be praising Jesus for this Christmas. Our little peanut arriving June 2023, Jeremiah 1:5,“

Similarly, there are three different sorts of stockings hanging in the photo; one large red knit stocking and another white version of the same size. In the middle, they hang a newborn-sized red-and-white sock.

Kathie Lee Gifford, who is already a grandmother to 6-month-old baby Frank, has yet to address her daughter’s pregnancy news.

The happy news comes more than two years after Cassidy and Ben wed in an intimate backyard wedding in June 2020. They kept a small ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the beautiful couple later threw a bigger wedding celebration in November 2021 in Nashville. While speaking to PEOPLE, Cassidy told at the time,

“The Whole day was really special,”

The model and her beau planned to wed after getting engaged in the fall of 2019.

A childhood friend turned into a lifetime sweetheart

Cassidy and Ben were childhood friends. Cassidy disclosed last year that she “actually met when Ben was 13 and I was 10,” adding to that she continued,

“Our moms met through a mutual friend in the Florida Keys, and my family would always go for the holidays. Their kids matched up with ages with my brother and I. You don’t always get along with your family friends’ kids, but we hit it off,”

The mom-to-be assured that she and Wierda “were always best friends,” until 2015 when they realized their relationship was something more.

She expressed,

“It was very quick. It was only after seven months of dating, which I know sounds very quick, but at that point, we already had done so much life together and knew each other so well for so long,”
“Once we started dating, it was kind of a no-brainer for us. We were in it and in it completely.”

Ben, 32, has been serving as a project manager since October 2017 at a technologies company in Santa Monica California. He graduated from the prestigious Pepperdine University in Malibu, California majoring with a BA in International Management.
