A look at the 1999 Steven Beard murder case

Celeste met Steven in 1997 while working as a waiter at the Austin Country Club. At the time, she was 32 years old. On the other hand, Steven was a millionaire and had a net worth of more than $10 million.

Celeste had previously been married three times and shared twin daughters; Jennifer Beard and Kristina Beard from her previous relationship. Similarly, Celeste had three kids, Paul, Becky, and Steven III from his previous relationship.

Celeste, who is now in prison for her husband’s murder, did not shoot Beard that October night. Her alleged lover, Tracey Tarlton, actually shot Steven.

According to Prosecutors Allison Wetzel and Gary Cobb, Celeste had manipulated Tarkton by wooing her and convincing her to murder Beard. Tarlton, who later acknowledged, that she was the one who shot Beard.

She said,

“She said that she had a plan and she wanted me to shoot him. I cared about her tremendously, and I did believe her. I believed what she told me, and I believed that she cared in the same way for me.”

Celeste allegedly convinced Tracey by saying her husband was emotionally abusing her and that she was considering suicide.

Even though Steven had healed, he died on January 22, 2000, from a blood clot caused by the gunshot.

The twin sisters once witnessed Celeste and Tracey kissing. They both believed Tracey and their mother were more than just friends.

Reasonably, it was very difficult for the two to testify in a murder trial against their mother, but they did so. The Beard sister has not seen her mother since the trial, according to various outlets.
