CGI models are Computer-generated imagery models with perfect angular cheekbones, flawless skin, and perfect bodies. They are an online trend brought to life by 3D art creators in the fashion industry.

Similarly, they have complex fictional backgrounds.

Shudu has been making major waves in the fashion world. She was launched in the year 2017 and she has featured in many campaigns for Ellessee and the French luxury house Balmain. Shudu is famous as the World’s First Digital Supermodel. Similarly, she has around 191k followers.

Shudu has been featured by Rihanna’s makeup brand Fenty Beauty to being at the center of a major fashion campaign. She was created by Cameron James-Wilson as he was inspired by the Barbie doll. Cameron is a white man who created this 3-D model of a dark-skin.

The creation of the dark-skinned model has benefited the black community. Previously, Cameron did not reveal about Shudu is a CGI due to which many questions were raised. There have been many online backlashes due to her non-existence as she is used instead of an actual Black model.

The real name of the pixelated It girl is Miquela Sousa. Lil is a Musician and model with Instagram followers of 1.7m. Prada and Pat McGrath collaborated with Miquela and scored an editorial in Vogue’s September issue.

The selfie on Lil Miquela was posted back in April 2016.

Miquela is presented as a sentient robot in conflict with other digital projects. Her first single Not Mine was released in August 2017. Recently, on 31st July she dropped two new singles Money and Sleeping In.

Rumors were that Miquela is a marketing gimmick for The Sins. Similarly, fans thought that she was the British model Emily Bador as the number of freckles on her face.

She has been pictured with celebrities like Diplo, Molly Soda, Nile Rogers, Samantha Urbani, and more. Zhi is also a virtual model. Similarly, she is a Chinese beauty who modeled after David Bowie, an English singer, actor, and songwriter. Zhi has an Asian look. She has black hair and white skin.

With the increase of these 3D CGI models, many human models have been threatened. Jessica Markowski told Insider CGI models that the CGI models pose a threat to our generation. She said,

“I think within the modeling industry, we have come a long way in accepting women and men in all colors, shapes, and sizes,”

“As a society, we have been more accepting of body image and so CGI models are going to have everything go in a different and negative direction.”
