The celebrity chef Gary Rhodes died at the age of 59. He is widely popular for his spikey hair and his passion for British cuisine. Rhodes died in Dubai where he had his two restaurants – Rhodes W1 and Rhodes Twenty10.
Death of celebrity chef Gary Rhodes
The celebrity chef who is also known for his own series Rhodes Around Britain is no more between us. As per the statement of his family, he died with his beloved wife Jennie by his side. Furthermore, in the statement, they also mentioned:
“The Rhodes family are deeply saddened to announce the passing of beloved husband, father and brother, Gary Rhodes OBE,”
They thanked for the support and love and also mentioned that they would like to have privacy at this moment. According to Jaideep Bhatia, PR director of the Grosvenor House Dubai, he was working until the day he died.

Some Facts About Gary Rhodes’s Life
Gary Rhodes was born in south London in 1960 and grew up in Kent. He got his training from Thanet Technical College. Rhodes’s first professional job was at the Amsterdam Hilton. This was the place where he began to experiment with nouvelle cuisine.
In 1997, he opened his first restaurant. Rhodes also appeared on Masterchef, Hell’s Kitchen and he was also a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2008. He published 18 cookbooks and won his first Michelin star in 1996.

Many people paid tributes to the late chef. Gorden Ramsay led the tributes to Rhodes writing:
We lost a fantastic chef today in Gary Rhodes. He was a chef who put British Cuisine on the map. Sending all the love and prayers to your wife and kids. You’ll be missed.”
Moreover, Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown tweeted:
“So so sad to hear about Gary Rhodes. His banana and syrup loaf was the first thing I baked all on my own. The pages are stuck together with syrup. So much love to his family.”

“The team are devastated to hear of the tragic passing of Chef Gary Rhodes OBE. Not only has the industry lost a true culinary legend, we have also lost an inspirational human being and a very dear friend. No words can express our sadness at Gary’s death or our gratitude for the opportunity to work with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rhodes family.”
