On Monday, Chelsea Handler took to her Instagram to announce that she and her partner of 1 year, Jo Koy have decided to go separate ways.

The couple who had been dating for nearly a year decided to end things between them amicably.

The former Chelsea host shared a video of the couple which they had earlier planned to share on their first anniversary, writing:

“It is with a heavy heart to announce that we have decided together that it is best for us to take a break from our relationship right now.”

Also, the pair is hoping that this is a temporary situation and that they reunite soon in the future.

A source close to the couple said:

“Their friends are hoping they can still work it out. But if anything, it’s clear their relationship has changed them both for the better,”

Handler and Koy might reconcile in the future

The 47-year-old actress also did not forget her fans for all the love they have showered upon the couple.

Handler proved that there is no bad blood between her and Koy. The Chelsea Lately host gave a shoutout to him by writing:

”he blew my heart open with love and because of him, my life experience has changed forever.”

Chelsea met the stand-up comic, 51, nearly 20 years ago through a mutual friend.

Koy even made several appearances on Handler’s former show Chelsea’s Lately which ran for seven years from 2007-2014.

It was in September 2021, that the couple first sparked dating rumors. They were spotted looking cozy at Los Angeles Dodger’s game.

The TV host then posted about being in love, without taking Koy’s name.

Within days after posting about being in love, Handler surprised fans by sharing pictures of the couple kissing.

On her Dear Chelsea podcast, Handler invited Koy, and the couple had a candid conversation about their relationship.
