She is also famous as the wife of the Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard and the mother of the well-known actresses, Bryce Dallas and Paige Howard.

She also has two sisters. She was inspired by her father and was interested in traveling and adventures from her childhood days growing up watching his adventures. Her father was the first Caucasian to climb the top of Mt. Fujiyama during winter.

In the 80s, she appeared in three films with her husband which were all hits at the box office. She appeared in the comedy movie, ‘Night Shift’ (1982), the fantasy film, ‘Willow’ (1988), and the fantasy romantic comedy, ‘Splash’ (1984).

Similarly, in the 90s, she featured in two more films directed by her husband, ‘Ransom’ (1996) and ‘Edtv’ (1999).

Furthermore, in 2001, she appeared in ‘A Beautiful Mind,’ which is a four Academy Award-winning film. The film was directed by her husband and starred Russell Crowe in the leading role.

In the 2000s, she performed an uncredited role in ‘The Da Vinci Code (2006) and performed the role of a scientist in its sequel, ‘Angels & Demons (2009).

She started her writing career ‘With in the Face of Jinn: A Novel’ which was published on April 1, 2005. Other books written by her include ‘Grandma, Tell Me a Story: Children’s Devotional Stories from the Farm.’ and ‘Heart & Desire’.
