Anderson Comas spoke openly about his sexuality being gay
Chicago White Sox Prospect Anderson Comas has come out publicly as gay on Sunday, February 19, via Instagram with an emotional and inspirational message.
Comas, who has been part of the Chicago White Sox organization since 2017, wrote a lengthy statement to confirm his sexuality and attempt to inspire others.
His IG post began with a disclaimer that reads,
“if you’re homophobic this post is may not for you or maby yes so you can see we all matters and we all are the same…”
He then continued,
“This may be my most personal thing I ever share and it’s that I’m proudly and happily part of the LGTBQ+ community,”

“I’m also a human with a great soul, I’m respectful, I’m a lover, I love my family and friends and that’s what really matters, I enjoy my work a lot, being a professional baseball player is the best thing that happened to me.”
Comas went on to mention those who notoriously preached against homosexuality and often minister homosexual cures to gays and lesbians that they “didn’t stop me to make my dreams come true”, referring to himself that “I’m Gay and I’m a professional athlete”.
In addition, he said,
“I’m doing this cause I wanna be an inspiration for those like me out there fitting for their dreams,”
In conclusion, he added an encouraging note that reads,
“Please don’t listen to those stupid things that people say about us, fight for your dreams, believe in yourself and go for it,”
Fans and Friends praise him with an outpouring of love and support
After his announcement, many took to social media platforms to praise him and outpour tons of love and support for him.
His organization, White Sox, took to Twitter to express admiration for him, tweeting, they were ‘proud’ of the prospect. While team assistant general manager Chris Getz revealed Comas had come out to the team last year.
Getz said,
“I was very pleased that he was comfortable sharing with us in player development. I also was happy at the reaction across the organisation, which as you would expect was to support, help and congratulate a teammate.”
“With his social media post today, we all are so proud of Anderson and that he is comfortable sharing such an important personal part of his life so openly.”
One of the LGBTQ+ members commented on his Instagram post,
“I’m queer and work off the field for a triple A team. So awesome to see more LGBTQ+ representation in this game we love so much. Best of luck this year, dude!”
Similarly, one of the baseball fans wrote,
“I’m a 66 year old lesbian baseball fan, been waiting my whole life for an openly gay player in MLB. Thank you for being out, proud, and brave as hell.”
Minor League Baseball team also commented on his post, writing,
“Keeping being you!”
