Adore Delano: Age, Parents, Family

Adore Delano was born Daniel Anthony Noriega in Glendora, California, on September 29, 1989. As of 2023, her age is 33.

They have not revealed much about her parents yet but she is of Mexican descent, with some German and Native American ancestry. Their father passed away in 2016.

American Idol

Delano made it to the semi-finals of American Idol’s seventh season in 2008. After telling judge Simon Cowell, “Some people weren’t liking it,” they went viral and were frequently featured on The Soup.

Rosie O’Donnell invited Noriega to play on her R Family Vacations cruise after seeing them on Idol. They were also interviewed and performed on Ellen DeGeneres.

Noriega claimed that their mother instructed them to “butch it up” during the tournament in order to avoid being bullied.

RuPaul’s Drag Race

After seeing RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Raven perform at West Hollywood nightclub Micky’s, Noriega was inspired to enter a drag competition at the club, which she later won on October 3, 2011.

Following her victory, Noriega began performing as Adore Delano on a regular basis in Southern California. Adore walked the Marco Marco runway for Los Angeles Fashion Week in 2013 among other RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants.

Logo confirmed in December 2013 that Adore Delano would be one of 14 drag queens participating in the sixth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

During Season 6, the panel judges chastised Adore for being a sloppy queen, not cinching her waist, and relying solely on her personality and charm. Despite a rocky start, she steadily improved as the episodes progressed.

Adore won her first task, rapping in a music video, on Episode 6 (“Oh No She Betta Don’t!”). The next week, she won her second challenge, ” Glamazon by Colorevolution,” alongside partner Laganja Estranja.

Adore returned to RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 2 in August 2016, but decided to leave the competition in Episode 2 “All-Stars Snatch Game” after some harsh criticism from judge Michelle Visage and nasty abuse from guest judge Raven Symoné in the first episode.

Adore Delano is the first competitor to withdraw from both series.

Delano’s Sexuality, Gender

Noriega came out as gay when he was 12 years old. She stated in a 2012 interview that she is not opposed to dating women.

Noriega identifies as non-binary and uses any pronouns as of 2017. She said:

“gender isn’t a real thing… it’s just something they came up with to categorize and control people.”

Following the breakup of Delano and Jakk Maddox on MTV’s Ex on the Beach: Peak of Love, Delano switched her attention to La Demi’s ex Tyler Ash.

Ash even went so far as to seek Maddox’s permission to pursue Delano.

Delano also dated Kristian Francuski, whom she met on July 11, 2014, while on tour in Australia. She later took him to her gig at the Apple Bar, where she serenaded him with a copy of Rihanna’s “Stay.”

Adore would later post on social media about Kristian being the love of her soul. While their romance did not last, they seemed to have a lot of fun while they were together.

She was also romantically involved with Ramiele Malubay. They both appeared on American Idol season seven.

While it’s unclear whether there was any romance, rumors were all over the place. Ramiele clearly had feelings for Danny years later, as seen by his use of Twitter to share old images of the two of them together.
