On Saturday, August 5, Fixer Upper star Chip Gaines took to Twitter to deny rumors of a split with his wife Joanna Gaines!

Chip Gaines has a message for anyone who believes the HGTV dream team is heading for Splitsville. The reality star took to Twitter after a user posted a comment saying that she was “sick of these ‘stories’ claiming @joannagaines and @chippergaines breaking up.”

Although unclear what the source of the breakup rumors was, the couple seems to be going strong both on and off-screen, crediting everything to their hard work. Gaines told PEOPLE,

“Nothing has come easy, We’ve worked so hard to have this beautiful family and this farm — it really does seem like the American dream you heard about growing up.”

The dynamic duo got lucky with their popular TV show. In addition to their other rapidly growing businesses, their main priority is still their family.

Gaines said,

“Jo and I both made a commitment early on that the two of us are the most important variable, IF we can figure out how to be right as a couple, then obviously we have a lot better opportunity to be right for our kids.”

In an interview with Us Weekly in January 2016, the contractor revealed that he was the first one to say “I love you.”

“And then I said thank you,” designer Joanna, 44, told Us.

The stars wed in 2003. Chip met Joanna when she was working in an auto shop owned by her dad. Chip, who had previously seen a photo of her on display in the shop, told PopSugar,

“I knew I’d marry her one day just by the picture on the wall.”
