The couple who exchanged wedding vows in 2013 surprised fans when they announced they had recently welcomed a surrogate child named Wren on June 19, 2023.

Despite keeping their pregnancy news a secret for so long, the Cookbook author has been very open about the difficult journey of pregnancy over time.

The former model revealed in 2015 that she and her husband were having fertility issues and trouble conceiving.

She said in an interview at the time,

“We would have kids five, six years ago if it’d happened,”
“But my gosh, it’s been a process! We’ve seen fertility doctors.”

In 2016, Chrissy gives birth to Luna Simone Stephens

The couple’s first child, Luna Simone Stephens was born in April 2016.

Teigen admitted at the time that she really wanted to have a girl as their first child as she thought that John would be the best father to a little girl.”

She told People,

“I made the decision: Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from the little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl,’”

Teigen later explained to Ellen DeGeneres on her show in 2018 how they ended up choosing her name.

She said,

”There was a blood moon happening, and it was a really beautiful night,”
“There was a really big, vivid, red moon. It was just gorgeous. And I have this love for space. I think about space camp all the time, and my time there as a youngster.”

Now that Luna is a big girl, she often goes on adventures with her mom that the latter shares on social media.

John Legend and Chrissy made Luna an older sister when the model gave birth to their second child, and first son, named Miles in May 2018.

The supermodel shared the exciting news on Instagram with a snap and captioned it,

“We are drowning in his little peeps and nuzzles. Our household feels overwhelmed with love. Thank you for all your well wishes.”

Miles who looks exactly like his father can often be seen fighting with his sister or helping his mommy in the kitchen.

In September 2020, Chrissy revealed that she suffered a stillbirth at 20 weeks pregnant.

She shared a black and white hospital photo at the time and said,

“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough,”

“We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital,”
“But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.”

The model later revealed that her baby died from a life-saving abortion and not a miscarriage.

Teigen and Legend welcomed their rainbow child, a daughter named Esti in January 2023 after an IVF journey.

The Grammy winner announced the good news while he was at a private concert which his wife later confirmed on Instagram.
