Domingo’s husband’s name is Raul Aktanov. He prefers to keep a low-key profile when it comes to his personal life and has been keeping it under wraps.

Last year, Domingo gave the world a brief glimpse of his love life via Instagram. However, the post is no longer available at the moment.

In an interview with GQ, Domingo also shared a short snippet of their love story. Their love story began on Craigslist and the rest is history.

The couple met Coincidently

In 2005, Colman and Raul first saw each other in a drugstore at Walgreens. According to GQ magazine, Domingo went to buy a mud mask where his eyes met Aktanov’s.

The day after their encounter Aktanov made a post “I saw you outside of Walgreens in Berkeley…” in the “Missed Connections” section of Craigslist.

The magical moment comes when the actor found the post and quickly sent a romantic email to Aktanov. He recalled the moment,

“I literally jumped out of my chair when I saw the post…”

Shortly after, they went on their first official date at a bar in San Francisco. The two instantly connected on their first date. During that time, Aktanov worked as an assistant costume designer.

They moved together to New York. After nine years of courtship, the couple walked down the aisle in 2014 in an intimate ceremony with around 25 guests. Actually, they fell in love at first sight.

“It’s supposed to be like this,” Domingo said while speaking with GQ.

Similarly, he said their love has only gotten deeper.

“It helps that my husband and I want nothing more for ourselves than to be the best persons we can be and allow ourselves to be free and unafraid, and help each other grow in our own spaces.”
