The emotional tribute comes just a day after the singer’s death 29 years ago.

Courtney Love remembers ‘ twin flame’ Kurt Cobain

Courtney Love will never forget the love she shared with her late husband Kurt Cobain. The singer paid a touching tribute to the late lead singer of the rock band Nirvana, 29 years after his untimely death.

In the rare tribute, the Doll Parts singer, 58, called the 90s rocker her twin flame. She shared a rare black-and-white shot of the rock legend via Instagram on Thursday. It came a day after the April 5 anniversary of Kurt’s death.

Love praised the photo which was captured by R.E.M. musician Michael Stipe calling it a ”powerful photograph” of her “twin flame.”

She wrote,

”It is one of the only images (or sounds/ tastes etc) that makes me miss him deeply,”

“But he chanted with me & often, & truly was moved by our Buddhist practice. Thus,
I know he’s in an enlightened place, more so, than we here in mappo are.”

The Celebrity Skin singer who shares daughter Frances, 30, with the late singer concluded her special tribute, saying, “I & we love & miss you.”

In 2006, Love told the Guardian that their friends tried to stop them from tying the knot. The singer said,

“Kim Gordon [of Sonic Youth] sits me down and says, ‘If you marry him your life is not going to happen, it will destroy your life,’”
But I said, ‘Whatever! I love him, and I want to be with him!’ … It wasn’t his fault. He wasn’t trying to do that.”

Courtney and Kurt’s daughter also paid tribute to the rocker

The couple’s daughter also paid her respects to her daddy in a now-expired IG story post.

Frances wrote,

“‘Life is like a wave crashing upon the shore & death is like the wave returning back to the ocean, back to its most natural state,’”

The visual artist added,

“Free from pain or human worry,”

“Death serves a purpose. It is what makes life so precious, in the same way pain is purposeful because we wouldn’t know joy without it.”

Frances also requested her Instagram followers to hold their loved ones “a little more tightly and a little bit closer for me today.”

Love and Cobain started dating in 1991 and tied the knot the following year on a beach in Hawaii. The rocker showed up to his wedding in green and white flannel pajamas.

Kurt who battled mental illness and addiction died two years after the wedding.

He committed suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot to his head. Love then had to live all the time through her husband’s suicide.
