The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Cynthia Bailey has formalized her divorce from his estranged husband Mike Hill. The duo has now officially parted ways.

According to court documents obtained by E! News, a judge approved the divorce on the 1st of December. The settlement comes nearly two months after the former couple announced their separation after two years of marriage.

Cynthia was the one who filed for divorce from Hill and cited cheating as the reason for their split, stating,

“Petitioner [Cynthia] is entitled to a divorce from the Respondent [Mike] due to inappropriate adulterous relations and moral ethics in his conduct.”

However, her legal team later changed the document petition, which now simply states their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

Her attorney, Daniel R. Meachum acknowledged the petition while interviewing on TMZ,

“The initial divorce filing between Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill, which included inappropriate adulterous relations, was incorrect,”
“The sole reason for the pending divorce is due to only irreconcilable differences. An amended petition is being filed immediately to correct that allegation by the legal representation of Meachum and Associates.”

Further, the former couple has both refused spousal support and to pay each other alimony. According to their settlement terms, they never “shared any bank accounts or investment account jointly”.

They had no real or personal property to divide as they had their own homes, their own retirement accounts, and insurance plans.

Cynthia and Mike filed a motion to seal documents

The former couple both filed a motion to seal future records on Thursday in Fulton County, Georgia. They stated they the two are “public figures” and have a “grave interest in protecting both their privacy interest and mental health”.

The petition reads,

“The parties assert that there are certain private matters concerning the dissolution of their marriage which may raise issues concerning both the moral character and embarrassing acts of one of the parties,”

The filing continued,

“These facts are perceived to have a strong probability of potentially adversely compromising one or both parties reputation, image, business dealings, and will significantly harm the parties mentally, psychologically, financially and emotionally.”

Further, the next hearing is scheduled for January 5, 2023.
