Daniel Radcliffe is expanding his family member with his girlfriend Erin Darke.

A representative for the Harry Potter star, 33, confirmed Erin’s pregnancy on Saturday, March 25, with PEOPLE. The two will become parents for the first time.

While a source close to the couple told The Mirror that the pair are ‘absolutely thrilled’ to become parents. An insider said,

“Daniel and Erin could not be happier to be expecting. They are absolutely thrilled, and can’t wait to become a family of three.”

Similarly, Darke was spotted with a tiny baby bump a day before the pregnancy news began to circulate, looking relaxed in a black hoodie with matching leggings.

The expectant mother completed the look with orange boots and a coat with a black-and-white striped pattern.

She was accompanied by her boyfriend, who was dressed in a navy puffer jacket and a bright yellow and blue winter hat, during a New York City outing.

The pregnancy announcement comes nearly a decade after they began courting. They met in 2012 while working together on the film, Kill Your Darlings and have since kept their relationship strong.

In a March 2019 interview with StarLifestyle, Radcliffe discusses his plans for his 30s. He said at the time,

“I would like to start directing in my 30s and try to get at least one film made before I turn 40.”

“So to get to my 40s and be a dad and have directed one film, I think I’d be very happy”

Additionally, the soon-to-be dad mentioned that he intends to show the Harry Potter movies to his future children. He said,

“I’ll make sure they read the book first before they start watching their dad in the films. I’d like to think they’ll watch the films when I’m older. Or there’s a chance that somebody would’ve remade the films by then and there’s a whole new Harry Potter to watch”.
