The host of The Dr. Oz Show on Sony lost his father recently. His dad, Dr. Mustafa Oz was a great soul, according to the proud son. Earlier this week, Dr. Mehmet, 58 uploaded an emotional tribute to the departed soul. He posted several pictures of his father and wrote:

“My dad passed away today at the age of 93. Dad changed everyone who met him. I remember as a child running behind his fast-moving legs while he made hospital rounds. Even as he aged and his legs no longer raced along, his mind never slowed down,”

Talking about how he entered medicine, Dr. Mehmet wrote:

“I fell in love with medicine after witnessing my dad do sometimes painful procedures on desperately sick patients who subsequently thanked him for saving their lives,”

He concluded his post thus:

“The opportunity to help is a powerful aphrodisiac and the responsibility to act should not be squandered, so he insisted that he and his children were ‘The Best,’ a contagious admonition. ❤️”

Dr. Mehmet Oz uploads more pictures of his late father

Dr. Mehmet felt that this was not enough. So the next day, he uploaded another smiling picture of his father and captioned it:

“Dad, we are all the shoulder of the serpentine obstacle course that you weathered for over 93 years so you take the straight and wide boulevard to heaven that you earned for every minute of your hard-fought life,”

The post continued:

“Enjoy the sweet journey while we earn your respect by fighting the battles that mattered to you,”

Daphne Oz, granddaughter mourns Dr. Mustafa’s death

Dr. Mehmet Oz’s daughter, Daphne Oz also mourned her grandfather’s death on social media. She posted a black-and-white picture of her grandfather and praised him as “a brilliant surgeon, filled with the most relentless work ethic and the pursuit of perfection.” In the picture, Dr. Mustafa was seen with Dr. Mehmet Oz when he was small. The Chew alum, 32 wrote:

“He loved to tell the story of when he came to America after completing medical school as a lifelong scholarship student in Turkey and his mother told the pilot to ‘fly slow and low to the ground!’ He was funny, fearless, tough, and the best bazaar bargainer. We will miss you, Buyuk Baba. ❤️”

Buyuk baba means grandfather in the Turkish language.

Daphne got a lot of support and love from her fans. She replied:

“My grandfather lived a long and full life, and seeing his family grow and thrive made him the happiest,”

He added:

“We are so lucky to have enjoyed all these years together,” she said of her grandfather, “and I’m looking forward to keeping his memory alive for our children.”
