Janet Von Schmeling has filed for divorce from her husband Drake Bell after four years of marriage.
The report comes just a week after Bell went missing mysteriously for a while.

Janet Von Schmeling, Drake Bell ‘s wife has filed for divorce just a week after the actor was reported missing and endangered in Florida. Thankfully, he was later found safe in Daytona Beach.

In court documents obtained by TMZ, she and the actor initially split in September 2022 and now Janet has filed for a divorce.

The reason for divorce was referred to as “irreconcilable differences,” according to the documents filed in L.A. County’s Court on Thursday.

Janet is also requesting legal and physical custody of their one-year-old son, Wyatt Bell, and spousal support.

She has, however, said that she is open to him receiving visitation of their son as part of a divorce agreement.

Janet and Drake were together since 2013

The pair began dating in 2013. After dating for five years and keeping their relationship private, the couple got married in 2018 in a private ceremony with close friends and family.

In July 2023, the Nickelodeon star announced that he and Von Schmeling had a son named Jeremy and that they had been married for almost three years. He thanked his fans for their good wishes and cleared up some incorrect rumors.

He wrote on Twitter:

“In response to various rumors that are incorrect, I have been married for almost three years, and we are blessed to be the parents of a wonderful son. Thank you very much to all my fans around the world for your good wishes.”

However, just two weeks before the announcement, the actor pleaded guilty to two criminal charges related to inappropriate messages he had sent to a 15-year-old girl in 2017.

As part of his sentence, he was placed on probation and community service. Von Schmeling has not publicly commented on her husband’s legal issues.

Drake Bell went missing and was found a week ago

Drake Bell was reported missing by the Daytona Beach Police Department through Facebook on April 13.

The police later confirmed that the actor was found safe and sound and in contact with law enforcement officials at Daytona Beach.

The police said in a statement:

“At this time we can confirm law enforcement officials are in contact and Mr. Bell is safe.”

After the actor was found, he took to Twitter to joke about his disappearance:

“You leave your phone in the car and don’t answer for the night and this?”

The Drake and Josh actor was reportedly saying that he did not want to live anymore due to concerns about child custody before his mysterious disappearance.

This led to his brother Robert calling the Orlando Police Department about him not answering his phone and missing.

According to TMZ, he was visiting Janet in Winter Park, Florida, to discuss the custody of their child when he made the worrying comments.

Now, Janet has asked for full custody of their child but is reportedly willing to let Bell visit him from time to time.
