Drake discusses marriage and his love life

Drake is not in a rush to marry anyone.

The five-time Grammy Award winner addressed the reason why he still hasn’t tied the knot with anyone and also opened up about his love life.

During an interview with The Really Good Podcast with Bobbi Althoff on Thursday, the rapper, 36, called the institution of marriage “a thing of ancient times.”

The Hotline Bling hitmaker said,

“I don’t know. It seems like a thing of, like, ancient times or something. I think I will eventually,”
“I don’t know, I don’t think I can offer somebody what they’d be looking for. Just consistency. I think my life, my work is my priority.”

When host Althoff asked the rapper if he refused to settle down in a bi to continue sleeping around, the rapper whose real name is Aubrey Graham quickly shut it down.

Drake said that he can not offer consistency or dedication to a relationship at this stage of life.

The One Dance hitmaker said,

“I don’t wanna get married ’cause like, I just don’t wanna disappoint someone,”

The musician who has dated strings of A-list women like Rashida Jones, Tyra Banks, SZA, Julia Fox, and Rihanna, over the years, said that he doesn’t want to settle down with a celebrity.

He shared,

“I probably will not end up marrying someone famous,”
“Famous people really aren’t that, like, anything — they’re not that intriguing.”

Drake has a necklace full of diamond rings

When the host asked what qualities the rapper is looking for in his partner, Drake confessed he wants “somebody that’s an individual.”

He explained,

“I like somebody that’s, like, their own,”
“They’re not just not like a carbon copy, like a person that I’ve seen a bunch of times throughout my existence. I like somebody with a sense of humor, you know? I like — I don’t know, like, cosplay.”

Althoff asked,

“What do you want them to dress up as?”

“Not with me, just like generally.”

Though he’s never proposed to any woman, Drake made headlines in 2022 after showing off a necklace featuring diamonds from engagement rings he thought about giving women.

Jewelry designer Alex Moss wrote over a video showcasing the creation,

“New piece titled ‘Previous Engagements’ for all the times he thought about it but never did it,”

Moss also noted that the necklace consists of “42 engagement rings, 351.38 carats in diamonds,”

The rapper is a dad to his son Adonis, 6, who he welcomed with former French adult star Sophie Brussaux, 33.
