Ed Sheeran shared the news of his new baby to the world via Instagram.
The British singer said that his wife Cherry gave birth to their second child earlier this week.
The couple welcomed their first child Lyra in August 2020.

Ed Sheeran, 31, took to Instagram on Thursday to confirm that his wife Cherry Seaborn, 30, gave birth to their second child, a baby girl.

The news was a big surprise to his fans around the globe when Sheeran shared a picture of a white pair of baby booties.

Ed put a beautiful caption for the picture and wrote:

‘Want to let you all know we’ve had another beautiful baby girl. We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4 x’

The couple managed to hide their pregnancy from the world and only their closest family members knew about it.

A spokesperson for the couple said:

‘Ed and Cherry recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl and are on cloud nine.
They’re so excited for Lyra to have a little sister and the four of them are currently enjoying some precious family time before Ed heads back on tour.
‘We are delighted for them, and we hope that you can respect their privacy at this special time.’

Ed Sheeran calls his firstborn a blessing and miracle

The couple announced the birth of their first daughter in a similar manner after keeping it secret till her birth.

Ed revealed in an interview that it was a blessing and miracle that Cherry gave birth to Lyra since she was struggling to conceive.

The Perfect singer revealed:

”We had tried for a while to have a kid, and we’d started going to doctors and figuring out what was up.”

On The Ellen Show, the hit-maker artist confessed that it was hard for him to be away from his daughter and wife even for a few days.

I actually find this really difficult, being away. There was a conversation about maybe taking Cherry and Lyra over here and jet lag is just not fun for a baby.”

Ed and Cherry were childhood sweethearts who rekindled their romance in 2014 and finally tied the knot. They are now proud parents of two beautiful daughters.
