After completing college graduation, he was drafted in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. Being the 204th pick, he was picked in the sixth round.

Unfortunately, he had a leg injury after which he could not be part of the 2012 season. Later, he was purchased by the Philadelphia Eagles but he played for the Eagles for a short period of time.

He was signed for The New York Giant’s practice squad. Again, he was signed by Philadelphia, after the injury of their linebacker, Jake Knott. During his first NFL. All total he made 14 appearances, with 31 tackles.

Afterward, he never played NFL again and ended his NFL career.

Hosting and Analyst Career

As Emmanuel Acho did not get any offer to be on the field again, he temporarily started working as an analyst. He served in a multinational regional sports network.

Then, he worked as the co-host of Cover Four, which ran on the Dallas Cowboy’s official website and was the anchor of the Texas Gameday Desk for Longhorn.

Following that, he left ESPN and joined Fox Sports, and co-hosted the afternoon show, Speak For Yourself.

He then served as a host in the weekly activist webcast Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man.

During his tenure, he got an opportunity to interview high-profile personalities like Matthew McConaughey and Chelsea Handler.

Apart from being an analyst and former NFL player, Emmanuel Acho is also an author.

Along with Oprah Winfrey, he released a book, of the same name and earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Nonfiction or Reality Series.

Acho published his second book titled, Illogical: Saying Yes to a Life Without Limits in March 2022.
