Divorce alert! Eric McCormack and Janet Holden are no longer a married couple. The couple called it quits on their marriage after more than 26 years of togetherness.
TMZ confirmed the news that Janet filed for divorce from her estranged husband on Wednesday, November 22 citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their separation.
According to the outlet, the 60-year-old actress has requested spousal support and reportedly wants to “end the court’s ability to award spousal support to Eric”.
Further, the now-former couple has yet to comment on their divorce news.
Last time, Eric and Janet were spotted together at the July opening night after-party for The Cottage on Broadway in New York City.
At the event, the pair posed a lovey-dovey pictures together.

Prior to that, they attended the 31st Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party at West Hollywood Park.
For the event, Eric dressed formally wearing a black tuxedo and bowtie. Janet, on the other hand, looked stunning in a plunging burgundy gown.
A short love story of Janet Holden and Eric McCormack
Janet met Eric in 1994 on the set of the Lonesome Dove TV show in Canada in which she was an assistant director.
In a 2007 interview with The Guardian, McCormack gushed about his first encounter with his now estranged wife. He said,
“I met my wife, Janet, in 1994 on the set of a TV series. She was the assistant director. I was just coming out of a relationship, and not to be trusted. I’d been dating actresses but Janet was different. She wore jeans, drove a pick-up truck,”
The actor acknowledged that although they began dating they kept their romance a secret for a while.
“At first she wasn’t too keen. She knew actors are a lot of work: it would be like taking your work home with you. But I managed to convince her, We had a secret affair the first season. I mean, dating crew! Actually, it was much worse for her, because she wasn’t supposed to give any of the actors preferential treatment.”
In 1995, the two first went public with their relationship and married two years later on August 3, 1997.
They also shared a son together named Finnigan, who was born on July 1, 2002.
