Eva Mendes loves keeping things private, especially when it comes to her relationship with Ryan Gosling.

Despite being together for more than 12 years, we rarely see the beautiful couple making an appearance on a red carpet together.

The actress recently had her say on why she and Gosling chose not to attend a red carpet event together.

The Hitch actress said she loves her privacy so much that she refuses the cameras to let her and her partner together.

Mendes who shares daughters Esmeralda, 8, and Amada, 6, with the The Notebook actor shared an Instagram clip from the duo’s first film together, The Place Beyond The Pines. It was then that they started their romance in 2012.

The Training Day actress was asked why she doesn’t post more pictures with her partner. One person asked her to make a red carpet appearance with Gosling for his new Barbie film.

The 49-year-old actress responded,

“What a cool comment, thank you,”
“But we don’t do those things together.”

Eva added,

“Like these photos I’ve been posting, I’m only comfortable posting because it’s already out there,”

Eva hinted at her marriage with Ryan last year

In the follow-up comment on the same post, Eva clarified that she only attended a red carpet event with her beau once.

The fashion designer added,

“Oh wait -for those who may catch me in a ‘lie’ -we only were on the red carpet together once when promoting this film,”

Fans were also curious to know why she doesn’t feel comfortable s sharing pictures with her partner to which she replied,

“By ‘not comfortable,’ I mean exposing our very private life that we value. I’m still dying to do another movie with him though…♥️.”

Eva seemingly confirmed that she and Ryan secretly tied the knot last year when she referred to him as her husband.

While promoting the Ronald McDonald House charity on Today Australia in November 2022, the actress was asked about her time Down Under. Eva said at the time,

“I’m loving it here. Everybody is amazing, everybody is welcoming us, it’s been so beautiful. My husband Ryan is here … and our children are here, we’re having the best time.”

That same month she posted a picture of a very special tattoo which was a tribute to her husband. She showed off the new ink on Instagram on her inner wrist that read “de gosling.”
