The relationship between Evan Felker and Staci Nelson

The lead singer of Turnpike Troubadours Evan Felker dated and engaged to his accountant Staci Nelson in November 2015.

Their marriage took place in November 2016 and for this, they had eloped to Spain’s Barcelona and got married there. They seemed to be a happy couple until the entry of American singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert into their lives.

Miranda Lambert, 34 was dating singer Blake Shelton in 2006 and after 4 years in May 2010, they got engaged. On 14 May 2011, they got married in Texas at the Don Strange Ranch in Boerne. After nearly 4 years of marriage, in July 2015 the couple called it quits and got divorced.

She began dating musician Anderson East in December 2015 after they met at a music festival in Nashville in September 2015. After two years of courtship, they split. She began romancing Evan in February 2018 while he was still married to Staci. Staci has said that he suddenly left her to be with Miranda.

Evan was still with his wife Staci when he got close to Miranda. A source told PEOPLE:

“The notion that [Felker and Nelson’s] divorce happened for any reason other than that is complete bulls—,”

Miranda had started texting Evan. The source said:

“They had never met and she had started texting him about looking forward to playing together and getting to know each other and maybe they could write because she really liked his writing sort of thing. It started very much about work. He was completely thrilled. By the time he was leaving for tour, it had become a lot flirtier.”

Turnpike Troubadours opened for Miranda during her Livin’ Like Hippies Tour on 1-3 February 2018. The insider added:

“…the first two of those he was still acting like he was in love with his wife, and he didn’t even call home on the third day.”

He skipped his flight back home to Oklahoma and continued to be with Miranda on her tour. He wrote to his wife via email:

“I’m not coming home this week,”

Evan was with Miranda all the time and soon became her boyfriend. He did not tell anything to his wife about it. Miranda put coded messages on her Instagram. On 7 February, she uploaded a picture of herself smiling in front of a mirror alongside a caption that reads,

“I do this thing called whatever I want”

On 7 March, she put up on her social media the picture of a graphing paper which Evan uses to write the lyrics of his songs and his favorite beer Modelo. She captioned it:

“Tools. #Texas #cowrite #happyhours,”

The source further said:

“the notion that he was planning to divorce [Felker] before he met her is complete insanity.”

It was only in late March that he told his wife everything and she came to know that he had divorced her. Now the divorce is finalized. The source said:

“He got sucked into it. He’s not a victim; he’s a grown man and should have said no,”

Staci too put up the matter as a public service announcement on her Instagram. Similarly, Miranda’s ex Blake, 41 also wrote on his social media to Miranda:

“Been taking the high road for a long time… I almost gave up, But I can finally see something on the horizon up there!! Wait!! Could it be?! Yep!! It’s karma!!”
