Who were the royal babies delivered in the Lindo Wing?
The Lindo Wing has been used by many royal family members to give birth to their babies. It started two generations back when Princess Anne decided to give birth to her two children there.
Both her kids- Zara Phillips and Peter Phillips were born in this wing. All of the Queen’s children were born in Buckingham Palace.
Princess Diana gave birth to Prince William at this wing of the hospital. The latter was the first heir-apparent to be born in a hospital. Prince Harry was also born to Princess Diana here. Kate Middleton also used this place to give birth to all her three children here-Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Kate’s younger sister, Pippa Middleton also chose this wing to give birth to her first baby.
The traditional place for royal watchers
It has been a tradition that after a child is born here, the royal couple will pose with the baby outside the Lindo Wing for royal watchers. The media personnel sometimes take up positions outside the wing many days in advance of the anticipated date of arrival of the royal baby!
